From their humble beginnings as a small discount retailer in Rogers, Ark., Walmart has opened thousands of stores in the U.S. and expanded internationally. Through innovation, they are creating a seamless experience to let customers shop anytime and anywhere online and in stores. They are creating opportunities and bringing value to customers and communities around the globe. Walmart operates approximately 10,500 stores and clubs under 46 banners in 24 countries and eCommerce websites.
Walmart acquired the assets of Art.com in 2018, an e-commerce site that features more than 2 million images and on-demand customization services.
Art.com Inc. is the world's largest online specialty retailer of high-quality wall art and complementary décor. The company was founded in 1998 with one goal – to help people find the art they love so they can love their spaces more.
Problem Statement:
Art.com, a prominent online retailer specializing in art prints and custom framing, sought to optimize their Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) platform by migrating it to the Oracle Cloud. With a focus on enhancing management capabilities and leveraging cloud advantages, Art.com collaborated with Vast Edge, a leading cloud solutions provider.
Our Approach
Art.com's primary goal was to streamline the management of their EBS platform by transitioning to the Oracle Cloud. They aimed for a comprehensive solution encompassing as-is migration of applications and datasets, platform upgrades, cloud security setup, and implementing a digital assistant. Vast Edge was entrusted to execute this transition seamlessly.
The following scope of work has been created to outline how Vast Edge can partner with Art.com to assist them in completing the EBS migration:
